Werewolves, forbidden love, Lukas Haas, oh my! Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Catherine Hardwicke’s Red Riding Hood, in which Amanda Seyfried plays the hooded — and quite stylish — object of desire in the supernatural love triangle. Based on this spot, Red Riding Hood will be visually stunning — the film is far more colorful than Hardwicke’s last supernatural love story, Twilight, and the cinematography certainly appears to capture the spirit of its fairy tale inspiration. (The architecture alone is otherworldly.) What I’m mostly curious about (besides why they seemed to bury the lead by not touting Leonardo DiCaprio’s producing credit): Will Red Riding Hood choose a more Hollywood-friendly ending, with Seyfried’s character overcoming the werewolf, or will the film swerve in a far darker, Charles Perrault-esque direction, with the hooded heroine becoming the prey? Or will they just have sex? Or did the trees do it? Who knows? It could be anything! Speculate, and check out the trailer, after the jump.
