‘Survivor: Nicaragua’ quick take: Take my immunity. Please!

If history has proven anything, it is that handing over immunity to the opposition is never a good idea. Erik gave his to Natalie in Micronesia, and she promptly voted him out. J.T. gave his to Russell — who was on the other tribe! — in Heroes vs Villains, and it was used later to send him home. Tonight on Survivor: Nicaragua, another person mulled over parting with their immunity. Did it lead to their untimely demise? My full recap will be up at midnight, but if you’ve already watched and can’t wait to sound off about what happened and who went home, then read on after the jump for more! [SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Wednesday's episode of Survivor: Nicaragua.]

After losing the immunity challenge — and having to endure swimming through Fabio’s urine in the reward challenge — La Flor came up with a plan to split the votes so they could flush Marty’s idol and vote out Jill. But then Sash came up with an even better plan: to somehow convince Marty to hand him his hidden immunity idol. Ignoring both common sense and the concept of risk versus reward, Marty indeed handed over the idol to his enemy. And while he was not voted out — Jill was sent home instead — he certainly could have been, and now the opposition is in possession of the idol. (No way in a million years does Sash give that idol back to Marty, no matter what he promised.)

What’s your take? Is Marty crazy, or just gullible? And does anyone actually think it is acceptable to pee in a pool of water? (Not the ocean, mind you, but a small, contained pool.) Hit the message boards and let us know. But first, make sure to check out my pre game interview with Jill below, as well as the most recent installment of the TV Insiders podcast. ‘The View’: Joy doesn’t want Sharron Angle’s flowers

the-view-joy-flowersImage Credit: Behar: Donna Svennevik/ABCYesterday, Joy Behar told Nevada Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle to “go to hell, bitch.” Today, she won’t accept that bitch’s flowers!

Let’s just pause for a moment and bask in the wonder of my new favorite View character, Glum Bouquet-Presenter! This item is really all about him.

Anyway, Joy pulled a note out of her shirt, announced she was having “a brassiere moment,” and read the note Angle had included with the autumnal bouquet: “Raised $150,000 today. Thanks for your help.” OH HELL NO. Joy, a self-proclaimed “street fighter,” became incensed. “I’d like to point out that those flowers were picked by illegal immigrants. And they’re not voting for you, bitch,” she fired back. “She could have spent that $500 on sensitivity training, or donated to an AIDS victim house, or maybe school lunches for poor children. Don’t send me flowers, Sharron. Put your money where your mouth is.”

Barbara Walters said Angle’s camp assured The View that because Joy was “so offensive to so many people, they will raise money for whoever” Joy disapproves of. That makes sense. Finally! It’s so nice to see everyone acting like adults!

James Bond's Aston Martin DB5 sold for £2.6m - BBC News

27 October 2010 Last updated at 20:30 ET James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin DB5 Bond's gadget-packed DB5 is the only surviving example used in the spy films An American car enthusiast has paid £2.6m to buy James Bond's most famous car - and then vowed to take it for a spin around the streets of London.

The 1964 Aston Martin DB5, which boasts revolving license plates, ejector seat and bullet-proof shield, featured in the films Goldfinger and Thunderball.

The silver model is still capable of 145mph and 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds.

It was bought at a London auction by collector Harry Yeaggy, who will display it at a car museum in Ohio.

It was previously owned by a US broadcasting boss who paid $12,000 in 1969.

Enthralling

After his winning bid was accepted, Mr Yeaggy revealed that it has been "a last-minute decision" to fly into London for the auction and that he had spent a little more than he had planned.

He explained: "I thought a European would buy it. But I guess they didn't appreciate Bond as much as we do."

New owner, Harry Yeaggy, says he will take the car for a spin in London before it goes to a private US museum

And having paid out such a sum, he said he was determined to get his money's worth: "We're going to fire the car up and drive it round the streets of London tonight. We're going to have a bit of fun with it."

The car is said to be in excellent condition and, as well as its other spy accessories, contains an early version of the modern-day satellite navigation system.

It is the only surviving example of two Aston Martins used in the early Bond films, after the other was reported stolen in 1997.

Bond's creator Ian Fleming had originally envisaged his British spy in a Bentley, but the Aston Martin was preferred by film-makers for its enthralling combination of Italian design and British engineering, analysts say.

A less sophisticated version of the car was released in the UK in 1963. It had a top speed of 145 mph (233 km/h).

The proceeds of the sale will go to previous owner Jerry Lee's charitable foundation supporting education and anti-crime projects internationally.

David Arquette: Courteney Cox Was 'Pissed' About My Radio Interview - People Magazine

David Arquette: Courteney Cox Was 'Pissed' About My Radio Interview | Courteney Cox, David Arquette Courteney Cox and David Arquette

Jordan Strauss/WireImage

After taking heat for his revealing interview on Howard Stern's Sirius radio show earlier this month, David Arquette dished more private details of his split with Courteney Cox on Wednesday.

Arquette, who later apologized via Twitter for over-sharing, admitted that Cox was not happy he spoke so candidly about their relationship the day after the two announced their trial separation.

"She got really pissed," Arquette, 39, told Howard Stern Wednesday morning. "We talked it all out and then we took a walk and it was great … She had a right to get upset about some of the personal details."

In his initial interview with Stern, Arquette revealed that Cox, 46, was tired of being his mother and that they haven't had sex in four months.

Wednesday, Arquette admitted to crying following the first time he slept with another woman after 11 years of marriage, "because it was the end of all the intimacy I shared with my wife."

He later addressed rumors that he'd cheated on Cox, explaining that their separation agreement allowed them to see other people. "I was faithful to my wife for 11 years … completely devoted," he said Wednesday on Regis & Kelly.

The actor, who has a 6-year-old daughter, Coco, with Cox, hasn't ruled out the possibility of getting back together with his wife, and hopes some space might help their relationship. "We gotta kind of make this separation more separate ... Just not so easy to communicate," he told Stern.

When pressed by Stern about whether he was ready to move on, Arquette said, "The fact of the matter is that I am still [expletive] in love with my wife – that's the bottom line."

‘Dancing with the Stars’ eliminated contestant talks about next gig: Another reality show!

Kurt Warner and Anna Trebunskaya may have earned the lowest scores on Monday but they got sweet relief during Tuesday’s telecast when Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke told them they were safe for another week. So who went home, instead? Find out after the jump!

dwts-audrina-patridgeGuys (and green-with-envy gals) won’t have Audrina Patridge’s abs to gawk at anymore. Though she and Tony Dovolani earned 32 out of a possible 40 points on Monday – the second highest-scoring performance of the night behind Brandy and Maksim Chmerkovskiy – Patridge became the sixth dancer to get the boot from Dancing with the Stars. Talking with reporters afterwards, Dovolani still appeared worked up by the judges’ harsh comments from the night before (including Len Goodman’s complaint that his partner didn’t show the necessary amount of character for a Latin dance).

“It’s hard when you put that much work into it,” Dovolani said. ”I know the judges sway an audience one way or another, and in this particular case, I wanted them to recognize how hard Audrina had been working to get to this point. Instead, they scolded us not once but a couple weeks in a row. They focused on her character and I think she has the greatest character in the world.”

“Last night’s comments were harsh but there’s nothing I can really say. It was to be,” Patridge added. ”I wanted more time! It still feels like unfinished business.”

At least she has another reality show to keep her busy. VH-1 is expected to announce Wednesday that it has picked up a new show from uber-producer Mark Burnett that’ll feature the former star of The Hills as she navigates Tinseltown. Though Patridge wouldn’t divulge the title of the show that’s expected to earn a multi-episode order, she did tease some of the key players. ”It’s about my family, me and everything you’ve always wondered about,” Patridge explains. “Tony will be on it. We’re good friends. He’ll make some trips to New York and visit.”

Dovolani had some news of his own to share with reporters: He and Chmerkovskiy will open a dance studio in Hollywood! Patridge hopes to be one of his first students - no doubt so she can maintain her speedy metabolism that allowed her eat pizza and “lots of desserts” while doing Stars. ”Already all my girlfriends have said, `God forbid you get voted off because we so want to learn to dance with you.’ So now I’m going to learn to dance with Tony and Maks,” Patridge said.

As for who she plans to support in the finale, Patridge admitted “it’s going to be hard. Maybe I’ll make a phone call to everyone.  Next week is the 200th episode party so I’ll be back!”

Dark Knight Rises new Batman sequel - The Press Association

Dark Knight Rises new Batman sequel(UKPA) – 6 hours ago

The next Batman sequel now has a title: The Dark Knight Rises.

Distributor Warner Bros confirmed the name for director Christopher Nolan's third adventure about the DC Comics vigilante hero, which follows Batman Begins in 2005 and The Dark Knight in 2008.

The Dark Knight Rises is due in theatres on July 20, 2012.

Bucking Hollywood's current wave of 3-D movies, Nolan is not planning to shoot the film in 3-D.

Warner Bros had agreed with Nolan's argument that the sequel should resist the 3-D craze, the director told the Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex blog, which first reported the title.

Nolan would not reveal what villain might appear in The Dark Knight Rises, but he said it would not be the Riddler, one of the key bad guys in the comics and past film and TV Batman tales.

Earlier this year, Nolan said he would not resurrect the Joker, the cackling villain played by Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight. Heath won the supporting-actor Academy Award for the role, a year after he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs.

‘Glee’ scores with its Halloween episode; ‘The Biggest Loser’ lives up to its title

tuesday-ratingsImage Credit: Dave Krieger/ABC: Trae Patton/NBC; Adam Rose/FoxFox won Tuesday among adults 18-49 (3.6 rating/10 share) by airing a special Halloween episode of Glee (4.8/12, 11.45 million). This is the fifth Tuesday of the 2010-11 season that Glee has finished the night as the No. 1 program of the night in the key demographic. Each 18-49 ratings point represents 1.3 million viewers.

The Glee lead-in helped to goose an original episode of Raising Hope (2.6/7, 6.2 million) at 9 and another at 9:30 (2.3/6, 5.4 million).

CBS won the night in viewers (16.1 million) because of its powerful combination of NCIS (4.1/11, 18.2 million), NCIS: LA (3.4/9, 16 million), and The Good Wife (2.4/7, 12.5 million). The network finished in second place in the key demo for the night with a 3.3/9.

ABC tied NBC for the night among 18-49 (2.3/6) but came in second among viewers (10.5 million) because of the Dancing with the Stars results show (15.4 million). No Ordinary Family dropped 9% to a 2.0/5 in the demo – its lowest rated telecast this season. It averaged 7.3 million. Detroit 1-8-7 benefited from its strong lead-in by posting a 2.0/6, a 11% improvement over last week. It averaged 8.7 million viewers.

On NBC, The Biggest Loser (2.4/6) posted its lowest-rated fall telecast ever and averaged a mere 6.6 million. Does anyone care about this show anymore or is it just too dang long? But hey, at least Parenthood was up 5% and posted a 2.0/6 in the demo. It averaged 4.8 million.

Fans enthusiastic about <i>Hobbit</i> deal - New Zealand Herald

File photo / Christine Cornege

The announcement The Hobbit will be shot in New Zealand has been greeted enthusiastically by Lord of the Rings fans all over the world.

The "Keep The Hobbit shoot in NZ" facebook page, which has more than 14,000 members, has been inundated with celebratory messages from across the globe following the decision.

"There is only one Lord of the Rings, which is Peter Jackson. And there is only one Middle Earth, which is New Zealand," wrote Sven Stadtmann, from Vienna in Austria.

"Great news today ... we American fans are celebrating that the 'real Middle Earth' will be seen in The Hobbit," Dan Given said.

Even Australian Lord of the Rings fans were happy with the decision.

"Congrats from across the Ditch! I am so pleased everything has worked out and that The Hobbit will be filmed where it should be filmed - in NZ!" Maureen Murnane said.

Actor Mark Harrison, who started the facebook group and organised rallies across New Zealand on Monday, said the decision was "fantastic news".

"It means there will be $650m of mobile capital in New Zealand instead of another country and that is money this country badly needs," he said. "Then there is the flow on affect to tourism and other industries."

Mr Harrison did not have any concerns with the Government's planned legislative changes to ensure contracted film workers cannot later argue in court they were employees.

"This is an area that needed clarification ever since the [James] Bryson case," he said. "It should have been changed by the Labour Government."

Mr Harrison said he not think the rallies influenced Warner Brothers decision to film in New Zealand, but said they were to support Sir Peter Jackson after the unions "had been knocking him for weeks".

Mr Harrison was scathing of the actions of the unions, who had asked their members to boycott the films, saying their actions have cost the country additional money and have damaged the image of unions in New Zealand.

"They should only blame themselves," he said. "In one fell swoop the unions have done more damage than any of the 1980s' reforms."

The message boards of Lord of the Rings fan site TheOneRing.net had a steady flow of comments following Prime Minister John Key announcement last night.

"My heartfelt congratulations to Peter Jackson, Weta and Co, the fans, and to New Zealand!" wrote "Owain".

"So happy with the news. Really hope those unions don't do anything during the production to make anyone regreat (sic) this wonderful news," posted "Richie Rich".

"Ainu Laire" said it was "good" the industrial law changes were limited to the film industry only.

"The tax breaks seem to be something that are due to what the film brings to the country - if the film is successful, better for [the] country/tourism, I would guess."

‘Medium’ episode order cut by CBS

medium_l.jpg Image Credit: Mitchell Haaseth/NBC Not-so-great news for Medium: An insider confirmed to EW.com that CBS has cut back the episodic order from 22 to 13 to make room for the network’s midseason lineup. The source stressed that the Patricia Arquette drama is not in immediate danger of cancellation, but if the ghost stories were doing any better in the ratings (or the buzz department), there would likely be no change to the order.

CBS has a jam-packed midseason lineup (including the highly-anticipated Criminal Minds spin-off starring Forest Whittaker), and since the Eye picked up all five of its freshman shows (The Defenders, Mike & Molly, $#*! My Dad Says, Hawaii 5-0, and Blue Bloods), space will be at a premium on the network come early spring.

The CBS-owned Medium, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m., is currently averaging 8.5 million viewers.

‘Gossip Girl’: Blake Lively and Penn Badgley break up: OMG will the show be the same?

Gossip-Girl-Break-UpSpotted: Dark clouds hovering over Manhattan as Lonely Boy and S go their separate ways. Cue the sounds of dexterous teens and twentysomethings texting away: OMG Blake and Penn broke up! Le sigh, PopWatchers. If these two can’t make it, is there any hope for us mortals?

Reps for both Blake Lively and Penn Badgley confirmed to People that the couple has ended their nearly three-year relationship in September (See: Happier times). Will Blake Lively cover up her signature cleavage in mourning? They’re both young, attractive, and rich, so sure, they’ll bounce back, but doesn’t an extra little piece of you die inside at the thought that Gossip Girl may never be the same? (A rep for The CW declined to comment.) Dan and Serena haven’t been dating since season two — and are technically step-siblings — but there’s always been a spark there (heck, we even said they belong together!), most likely due to their off-screen chemistry. And life seems to imitate art for Badgley, who recently admitted that he’s “not friends” with other cast members like Ed Westwick, which makes his on-screen disdain for Chuck that much more believable. Maybe someone needs to get over their Hemingway Complex? For now, their characters are on opposite ends of Manhattan (which likely means filming less scenes together); Serena’s at Columbia (when she makes it to class on time), embarking on a quasi-relationship with her professor Colin (Sam Page), while Dan is downtown at NYU figuring out his relationship status with Vanessa, writing, and hiding his true feelings for Nate.

With a supporting role in this fall’s The Town, Lively is becoming the series most sought-after star. (Badgley also appeared on the big-screen this fall, in a minimal, yet sweet role alongside Emma Stone in Easy A). If things begin to get awkward, do you think she’ll request script changes, or — gasp — a Marissa Cooper-style fate to get out of the show altogether? (Love her or hate her, but The O.C. was never the same). Odds are they’ll both keep it professional, but it’s got to be a little uncomfortable having to work with your ex right after a break-up.

Will this make you view Gossip Girl differently, PopWatchers? Did you like Blake and Penn, or are you more of a champion of Ed and Jessica? Today’s news also got us thinking about our favorite co-stars who are also off-screen couples, like Adam (Peter Krause) and Sarah (Lauren Graham) on Parenthood and Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) on Dexter. Do off-screen relationships make for better on-screen chemistry? Who will take over for Blake and Penn as primetime’s greatest duo? Preferably a pair with last names for first names, of course.

Taylor Swift Unveils Madame Tussauds Wax Figure - MTV.com

NEW YORK — Fans gathered at Madame Tussauds in Times Square on Wednesday (October 27) to catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift, who was on hand to unveil the museum's latest wax figure — this one of Swift.

In the moments leading up to the superstar's arrival, fans sang along to songs from her latest album, Speak Now, as TV crews, paparazzi and photographers counted down the minutes until the big reveal.

In a sea of camera flashes, Swift finally made her way to the room where her new statue awaited. Dressed in an outfit identical to the replica, the singer seemed excited about her wax likeness. Both Swifts were wearing a dress designed by Jenny Packham, which Taylor had donated for the occasion. Her statue held up a custom-made guitar, but it wasn't just any old guitar: This was a blinged-out version decorated with 2,000 Swarovski crystals. Swift gave it two thumbs up before telling the crowd, "I think that the face looks a lot like me and this is so crazy. This is wonderful. I'm really thankful."

The appearance capped off a week of stops around New York City, including a "Today" show performance and an intimate fan-attended Speak Now release party, where the singer dished a bit about the album.

"For me, Speak Now was inspired by the last two years of my life. ... That's why I write songs," she said. Asked whether there was anything she wouldn't write about, she laughed, "Well, I thought so before this album. There's a little more speculation now than when I was 12."

What do you think of Taylor Swift getting her own wax statue? Who else do you think should get one? Tell us in the comments!

'Caprica' canceled by Syfy

Caprica is toast. Syfy has announced that the low-rated Battlestar Galactica prequel has been canceled.

“The remaining first run episodes of Caprica – airing Tuesdays at 10/9c – will be removed from the schedule as of next Tuesday, November 2,” said the network in a statement. “These final five episodes of the season will be re-scheduled to air at a to be announced time in the first quarter of 2011, and will conclude the run of the series.”

“We appreciate all the support that fans have shown for Caprica and are very proud of the producers, cast, writers and the rest of the amazing team that has been committed to this fine series,” said Mark Stern, EVP of original programming at Syfy. “Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season.”

The news comes less than a week after Syfy unveiled plans for another Galactica prequel, this one set 10 years into the first Cylon war.

David Arquette talks about separation with wife Courteney Cox on ‘Regis and Kelly’

Out on a media blitz promoting Scream 4 and his directorial stint on CSI: Miami, actor David Arquette found himself responding to more personal questions this morning on Live! with Regis & Kelly. When asked why he’s been so open about his separation with wife, actress Courteney Cox, Arquette said it’s because several reports erroneously claimed he’d been unfaithful to his wife. Arquette appeared to grow emotional as he explained the real situation: “I was faithful to my wife for 11 years, completely devoted,” he said. “We had been separated for a while and we didn’t want to make that public, so it wouldn’t be a big deal. But we also had an agreement that we could date other people. I didn’t want to be labeled as a cheater.”

He also said that they’re still close — they had dinner together last night — and there’s still a chance they’ll get back together. “There’s always a chance, yeah. I mean, I love her with all my heart,” he said. “I’ll be friends with her forever.” Watch the clip below:

What do you think of Arquette’s explanation for speaking out? Is there anything he can say that will make his life easier? Or should he take a page from Cox’s book and remain quiet?

‘Thriller’: The movie? Hit song could moonwalk to the big screen

thrillerImage Credit: Everett Collection Good news just in time for Halloween: Deadline reports the Michael Jackson classic hit “Thriller” has inspired a film that’s currently being shopped to various studios. Certainly we all remember the epic, groundbreaking video directed by John Landis from 1983: That red leather  jacket! Yellow colored lenses! Awesome zombie pop and lock dance moves!

So how will this translate to a feature-length film? Kenny Ortega — who directed last year’s This is It — is reportedly already attached to direct and Jeremy Garelick (The Hangover) is set to write the screenplay. (Does this means the walking dead will go to Vegas and steal Mike Tyson’s tiger and marry Heather Graham?) And while the plot for the movie is still being kept under wraps, apparently it will have something to do with the “song’s folklore,” which, with lyrics like, “There ain’t no second chance against the thing with forty eyes, girl,” leaves the door wide open. Will the filmmakers extend Landis’ video vision with misty graveyards and or go in a completely different direction? And is there anyone in Hollywood who could hope to compare with the King of Pop’s dance moves? (Or, for that matter, Vincent Price’s creepy cackle? )

What do you think PopWatchers? Would you want to see a movie based on “Thriller” and who would you like to see in it?

Conan won’t be denied his Masturbating Bear — even if it means a lawsuit

ConanImage Credit: Art Streiber/TBSConan O’Brien had some fightin’ words in his recent interview with Rolling Stone: “I won’t be denied my Masturbating Bear!” he says in the article, daring NBC to sue him, since the network still owns all his Late Night characters and bits. “What I really wanna do is be sued over the bear and then appear in court with the Masturbating Bear. ‘Your Honor, this bear can’t help himself!’”

A rep for NBC declined to comment on whether the network would pursue legal action against O’Brien should ursine onanism make an appearance on Conan’s upcoming TBS series.

As much fun as a good old-fashioned lawsuit is, I actually hope we never see the Masturbating Bear again. I think Conan O’Brien is superhumanly funny, and I think his writing staff over the years has given us some true moments of comedic bliss. And I think they can do it again. In better and different and new ways! There are so many woodland creatures who’ve never once masturbated on television; surely one of them could have a chance. New characters, new bits, new ratings — these are all good things.

Ann Wilson on singing Barracuda for ‘Dancing with the Stars’: ‘I was disappointed Sarah Palin wasn’t there because we would have dedicated it to her’

dwts-heartAs surprising as it might have been for Heart fans to see Nancy and Ann Wilson perform on Dancing with the Stars Tuesday, it was equally as shocking for the two women – especially when they looked down to see the show’s professional hoofers moving to their distinctive beat.

“When would a rock band play for a ballroom dance?” Ann Wilson asked reporters afterwards. “When people used to dance to us years ago, it was in a tavern or at a high school dance. At first, we looked at each other and went, `Is this rock?’ And then we went, ‘Yeah, it is.’ It doesn’t matter.”

“This is a first,” says Nancy Wilson. “It’s wonderful because it’s a first. It’s sweet.”

It was the producers’ request that Heart perform Barracuda, and the ladies were happy to oblige. “It’s a powerful, gritty rock song, which is really what they wanted for rock week,” says Ann Wilson. “I was just disappointed that Sarah Palin wasn’t here to watch her daughter, because we would have dedicated it to her.”

Though she earned low scores on Monday, “teen activist” Bristol Palin remains a contender for the mirrored ball trophy on Stars.

The song Barracuda and Palin have quite a history. In 2008, the Republican National Convention played Barracuda when introducing Palin as John McCain’s running mate. At the time, Heart told reporters that the GOP did not seek permission to use the song, nor would it have granted permission. Heart also sent an exclusive statement to EW that read, “Sarah Palin’s views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women … The song Barracuda was written in the late ’70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women.”

On Tuesday, Ann Wilson talked to reporters about how Barracuda is just as relevant today as it was when it was penned over three decades ago. “That song is just as full as angst as it was when it was written. That’s why that song stands the test of time. It’s just a screed. It’s a piece of angry flip out and that’s how it should be put across every time. That’s easy to do!”

Heart’s next gig is an acoustic performance at a Michelle Obama-hosted Democratic fundraiser. The duo have also booked a Brian Boitano skating special this Christmas. Yep, you read that right: They’re performing near ice this time!

“That will be another first,” says Nancy Wilson. “Instead of ballroom dancers, there will be ice skaters in front of the stage!”

Heart will then tour with Def Leppard next summer.

&apos;Avatar&apos; Sequels: Everything We Know So Far - MTV.com

The voyage from Earth to Pandora takes about six years. It looks like James Cameron will only need five to return to "Avatar." The writer/director has officially set up two "Avatar" sequels as his next projects, with the first arriving in December 2014 and the second opening in December 2015.

"[W]e will not back off the throttle of 'Avatar's' visual and emotional horsepower, and will continue to explore its themes and characters," Cameron said in a statement on Wednesday morning (October 27).

Themes and characters, you say? Well, that's not terribly revealing at all. Thankfully, Cameron and his cohorts have previously spilled details about what we can expect from the upcoming installments of "Avatar." Here's everything we know so far about the sequels.

Exploring Oceans and Other Planets
We got a taste of Pandora's marine world when Sam Worthington's Jake Sully plunged down a waterfall, but the plot took place almost exclusively on the ground and in the air. According to Cameron, "Avatar 2" will plunge into Pandora's oceans.

"Part of my focus in the second film is in creating a different environment — a different setting within Pandora," he said. "And I'm going to be focusing on the ocean on Pandora, which will be equally rich and diverse and crazy and imaginative, but it just won't be a rainforest."

Cameron later told MTV News that he plans to film footage underwater to capture what will become Pandora's oceans. "I think what we should do there is — because we'll have to have characters that are in and under the water — is that we should actually capture them underwater," Cameron told MTV News. "It's not the same as going diving, but I like to keep my diving, which I do for pleasure, separate from work."

While "Avatar" focused strictly on Pandora, an alien moon, "Avatar 3" will likely begin to explore other planets. "We created a broad canvas for the environment of film," Cameron has said. "That's not just on Pandora, but throughout the Alpha Centauri AB system. And we expand out across that system [in subsequent films] and incorporate more into the story — not necessarily in the second film, but more toward a third film."

Jake and Neytiri — and Maybe Grace — Return
At the end of "Avatar," Jake ends up abandoning his human body and transferring his consciousness to his Na'vi avatar, allowing him finally to be truly together with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana). The next two films will continue to tell their story.

"We'll follow Jake and Neytiri," Cameron told us.

Who else will return? Sigourney Weaver's character, scientist Grace Augustine, appeared to die toward the end of the film. But Weaver has said we shouldn't assume Grace won't pop up in some form in the sequels.

"It's always a mistake in science fiction to make these judgments on the dead," Weaver told MTV News "You didn't really see her die. What you saw was ... something happen. I think that [James Cameron] wants all of this to be a surprise, but don't buy the funeral wreath quite yet."

The Development Process So Far
In his statement, Cameron announced he will begin writing the sequels early next year. We already know he's got a hefty head start on the process. He's written hundreds of pages of notes about where the story will go.

"I have a trilogy-scaled arc of story right now, but I haven't really put any serious work into writing a script," he told us in December 2009.

And just because the scripts have not been finished does not mean preproduction cannot begin. They'll begin work on creature and environment development "as soon as Jim locks in on some of those notes," producer Jon Landau explained to us. "We don't have to wait for a script for that. And there are also certain things we designed from the last movie that didn't make it in that I'm sure will make it in on the next movie."

Check out everything we've got on "Avatar."

With the clock counting down to the start of the World Series, News Corp. rejected Cablevision’s latest offer to end their dispute over fees for Fox stations, calling it "yet another in a long line of publicity stunts."

Just hours earlier the Bethpage-based cable company said it would pay the same rate that News Corp. charges Time Warner Cable to carry Fox stations in New York and Philadelphia for a year.

But News Corp. said the proposal isn’t fair because Cablevision is asking for a "discounted" package rate without wanting to take the other cable channels that are part of Time Warner Cable’s deal.

"Cablevision is seeking a discounted ‘package rate' without buying the entire package," Fox said in a statement.

"We have told Cablevision all along we are willing to negotiate a deal – based on an entire suite of channels – under the terms we have reached with Time Warner Cable and other providers, or a stand alone agreement for WNYW FOX5, WTXF FOX29 and WWOR My9."

Cablevision said News Corp., which owns Fox and The Post, was operating in "bad faith" and again called for the FCC to intervene to resolve the argument.

"It is now clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that News Corp. is operating in bad faith," Cablevision said in a statement. "We call on the FCC to intervene immediately to restore the Fox signals to Cablevision’s 3 million homes and order News Corp. to agree to binding arbitration to resolve this conflict."

The two companies have been locked in a dispute that has deprived Cablevision’s 3 million customers of Major League Baseball games and shows like "Glee."

An increase TO $0.50/month?!? Aren't most people's cable bills over $100/month?

So you mean to tell me that Cablevision let it's customers lose one of the most popular channels over a few dimes/month?

If I was a Cablevision customer I'd be pretty ticked off at them.

And if all parties agree:
What does that do for the consumer's bill which we know is going up next year because we are now all required to have a box on each TV that they charge for....
Will we get a rebate for not having full service for these many days?

Is Congress going to break up this mega company?

‘The Good Wife’: The gray areas I like, and the one (Tammy) I’m undecided about

The-Good-Wife-kissImage Credit: Jeffrey Neira/CBSThere are many reasons to love CBS’ The Good Wife. At the top of the list, right next to that look on Eli’s face when Peter’s new opponent said a fountain was her reason for entering the States Attorney race, is the writers’ ability to keep storylines gray in a way that feels true, not melodramatic. Spoiler alert for those who haven’t watched last night’s episode. For instance: It’s tough to not like cheating Peter when he respects Alicia’s work enough to turn down the endorsement of a Nobel Peace Prize winner whose lawyer wanted Peter, in exchange, to get Alicia’s firm to drop the sexual assault case being brought against the humanitarian by a massage therapist. Of course, that Nobel winner was smart enough to endorse Peter anyway, so Peter would have to choose between asking Alicia to turn down the case or being backed by a man with a scandal worse than the one Peter has survived. The massage therapist ended up dropping the case herself because she got a taste of the scrutiny that was to come as Kalinda and Blake investigated her claim before the firm would commit to representing her. We don’t know what Peter would have done if she hadn’t. The writers made you believe that the massage therapist was the kind of person who could live with her decision not to prosecute, so the ambiguity with Peter didn’t feel like a copout. The woman’s decision may have been tough to take, but I wasn’t as upset as I would’ve been had Diane chosen not to take the case at the urging of the Nobel winner’s wife. Diane had to decide whether the man’s work for women was more important than his actions against one woman. There are some things I never want to see Diane compromise on. That’s one of them.

Other characters that continued to operate well in the gray zone last night include Cary (did he send Alicia that case because he truly felt Childs was wrong not to prosecute, or because Childs saw how it could play out and asked him to?) and Blake (did he trash the victim’s apartment and steal her money because he had to make it look like a break-in, or because he’s a bastard?). But there’s one character, Will’s date Tammy (guest star Elizabeth Reaser, pictured), that’s frustrating me. Dating a guy that your sister dated, even when they were young? Kind of strange. Though I suppose Tammy needed to be someone from Will’s past who Alicia wouldn’t know, who could let it slip that Will came home from college and told her sister that he’d fallen in love with someone else (Alicia), and later tell Peter that Will was currently in love with someone else (Alicia). So let’s give Tammy an out there. Tammy says she likes Will, but not when he’s “serious.” Was she talking about him having romantic baggage or in general? He’s not Barbra Streisand in The Way We Were, Tammy. He’s a lawyer, who plays in a basketball league. She said she’d stay with Will as long as he kept it fun — the minute he falls in love with her, she’s out of there. That’d be fine with him, of course, because even though he’s suppressing his feelings for Alicia, they’re still there. But Tammy’s conversation with Peter about whether or not you can change who you love could mean she actually does want Will to fall for her. (If she didn’t before that steamy kiss, she may have afterwards.) What’s your take on Tammy? A rep for the show tells EW Reaser has at least two more episodes to air: “The hope is for many more.” A love triangle (or rectangle) works best when you like everyone involved — that way you don’t lose respect for the character who’s torn. I like Reaser, but I’m not sold on Tammy yet, even if she does eat two desserts and checks sports scores at dinner. Watch a clip below.

‘Hobbit’ director Peter Jackson talks about casting a ‘heartthrob’ dwarf (Exclusive)

Richard-ArmitageImage Credit: Mike Marsland/WireImage.comIt’s been a long time coming, but there was finally cause for rejoicing in Middle-earth last week when director Peter Jackson announced he’d cast several key roles in his adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy novel, The Hobbit. The casting of Martin Freeman of the UK Office fame as Bilbo Baggins was widely expected, but some Tolkien fans were surprised and slightly befuddled to see English actor Richard Armitage, best known for the BBC series MI-5, cast as Thorin Oakenshield, the gruff leader of a company of dwarves. What was Jackson doing hiring a hunky actor to play a character most often depicted in illustrations — and in the 1977 animated Hobbit movie — as a squat, crabby, Wilford Brimley-ish old dwarf with a long white beard? In an interview (after the jump), Jackson tells EW the choice is actually right in line with the casting of Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn and Orlando Bloom as Legolas in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

“Thorin Oakenshield is a tough, heroic character, and he certainly should give Leggie and Aragorn a run for their money in the heartthrob stakes — despite being four feet tall,” says Jackson, who also announced seven lesser-known English, Irish, and Kiwi actors in the roles of other dwarves. “In Middle-earth, dwarves are a noble race and have a culture and physical appearance which sets them apart from humans. It’s fun to develop these different cultures for the movie, and we are doing much more with dwarves this time around than we did with Gimli in Lord of the Rings. Our company of thirteen dwarves in The Hobbit lets us explore many different personalities — and costume and make-up designs will support the type of character each actor plays. Richard is a powerful actor with a wide range, and we’re very excited to be handing Thorn over to him. In this partnership, we need Richard to give us his depth, range, and emotion as an actor — and we’ll make him look like a dwarf!”

Cyrus Divorce -- Kids Comfort Mom - TMZ.com

10/27/2010 7:00 PM PDT by TMZ Staff   Just hours after Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce ... his soon-to-be ex wife Tish was out in Los Angeles, getting some serious emotional support from her two kids.

102710_tish_cyrus_pcn
While Miley was MIA, her younger siblings Braison and Noah spent some quality time with their mom ... whose eyes were hidden behind dark sunglasses. Tish's forearm tattoo -- which reads "She wants to fly" -- was in plain sight, however.

As we previously reported, Billy Ray blamed the split on irreconcilable differences. The couple has been married for 17 years.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ rocks on Monday, ‘Hawaii Five-0′ takes a hit

monday-ratingsImage Credit: Sonja Flemming/CBS; Adam Larkey/ABC; Adam Rose/FoxABC and the behemoth Dancing With the Stars had another great night Monday. That (arguably silly) rock theme did wonders for the two-hour competition show that had a slight overrun into Castle’s timeslot: Stars averaged 20 million viewers and posted a stunning 4.2 rating/11 share among adults 18-49 — a 5% increase versus last week. That, in turn, boosted Castle, which earned a 3.0/8 in the demo (up 20% versus last week) and lured a timeslot-winning audience of 11.7 million.

Overall, ABC won the night in viewers (17.3 million) and adults 18-49 (3.8/10). Each 18-49 ratings point represents 1.3 million ballroom-loving people.

CBS’ comedy night came in second with a 3.3/9 and 10.2 million viewers, though How I Met Your Mother (3.2/9, 8.3 million) and Two and a Half Men (4.3/11, 13.6 million) were down single-digits versus last week. Rules of Engagement (2.9/8, 8.2 million) was flat versus last week while Mike & Molly (3.6/9, 10.8 million) was actually up 3% versus last week. Good for the house of Chuck Lorre (the über-producer who’s behind the comedy about two pleasantly plump lovers). But Hawaii Five-0 (2.8/7, 10 million) posted its lowest-rated telecast so far in the key demo, though it still won its timeslot among men 25-54 and men 12-17 (the dudes dig Scott Caan!).

Chuck on NBC earned a 1.9/5 and averaged 5.4 million, while The Event – which has already earned a full season pickup — posted a 2.0/5, it’s lowest-rated telecast to date. It lured 5.9 million. And Chase, which also was picked up for a full season, was down a whopping 13% to a mere 1.3/4 in the demo, also its lowest-rated telecast ever. It averaged 4.9 million. Overall, NBC finished third for the night among 18-49 (1.7/4) and total viewers (5.4 million).

Fox ran a repeat of House which did no favors for an original episode of Lie to Me, which did a 1.5/4 and attracted 4.3 million viewers. Fox came in fourth for the night with 4.1 million and a 1.5/4.

On the CW, 90210 attracted its largest audience of the season (2.0 million) and matched its season-highs in all key demographics, including women 18-34. Gossip Girl only averaged 1.8 million, but it was still the CW’s best Monday of the season in total viewers (2.0 million).
