‘Medium’ episode order cut by CBS

medium_l.jpg Image Credit: Mitchell Haaseth/NBC Not-so-great news for Medium: An insider confirmed to EW.com that CBS has cut back the episodic order from 22 to 13 to make room for the network’s midseason lineup. The source stressed that the Patricia Arquette drama is not in immediate danger of cancellation, but if the ghost stories were doing any better in the ratings (or the buzz department), there would likely be no change to the order.

CBS has a jam-packed midseason lineup (including the highly-anticipated Criminal Minds spin-off starring Forest Whittaker), and since the Eye picked up all five of its freshman shows (The Defenders, Mike & Molly, $#*! My Dad Says, Hawaii 5-0, and Blue Bloods), space will be at a premium on the network come early spring.

The CBS-owned Medium, which airs Fridays at 8 p.m., is currently averaging 8.5 million viewers.
