James, 41, and Von D, 28, turned up at El Compadre Mexican restaurant in West Hollywood, where they chatted and kissed at their table.
It was the first public outing for the motorcycle mogul and the L.A. Ink star since split rumors started flying earlier this month after Von D was spotted getting close to ex-boyfriend Nikki Sixx and rumored former flame Bam Margera.
In mid-October a source told PEOPLE that Von D wasn't happy about James's having moved to Austin, Texas, and was losing patience with their "weekend fly-back-and-forth relationship."
But observers at El Compadre said the couple appeared to be in good spirits: after polishing off their shared cheese enchilada, they left a generous tip before heading out.
