Celebrities react to Betty Ford’s death

Celebrities have been quick to respond to the death of former First Lady Betty Ford, who founded the eponymous center for addiction. Singer Stevie Nicks credited Ford with having “saved my life.” Gary Busey urged her family to “celebrate her life on the new plateau she is on.” Steven Tyler praised her “vision, passion, and amazing heart.” Gena Rowlands, who played Ford in a 1987 made-for-TV movie, called her “a national treasure.”
